MEMORIES OF ELVIS AND FLOWERS

I have always loved the song "Memories" and Elvis sings it better than anyone. This is a picture of Canterbury bells, a lovely wildflower. I remember playing around these flowers growing up in Mississippi and I'll bet Elvis would remember them too.

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine

Quiet thought come floating down
And settle softly to the ground
Like golden autumn leaves around my feet
I touched them and they burst apart with sweet memories,
Sweet memories

Of holding hands and red bouquets
And twilight trimmed in purple haze
And laughing eyes and simple ways
And quiet nights and gentle days with you

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine,
Memories, memories, sweet memories

These Canterbury Bells look something like the little Blue Bells which we have growing wild, along trees. But when I take pictures of them, they never show 'blue' enough. :-)

Since I'm not familiar with the song "Memories," I didn't realize at first, that the words, were to that song. I was thinking they were a poem. And going to ask you if you wrote it. Beautiful...

Hi Eve!
How'd you find my blog? Thanks for stopping by! Well, the swap was actually the blue/green summer swap by OMSH, but it's over now. She has a Flickr group called Color Me Happy Swaparooni and we have a different swap and partners each month. I'd love to hear more about your quilting swap, though!
