LIFE IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR

I am old enough to side step all the pitfalls that can trip up someone younger. I have no delusions anymore about what I will be when I grow up. It is an established fact. I did some of the things I wanted to do. I didn't accomplish a lot more that I had my sights set on. But that's okay because as it turns out, it was probably the best for me, the way my life has gone. I have had as many daylilles as lemons and I like to think I did make lemonade when I got lemons most of the time.

I can't imagine being with anyone else but Billy as I am entering my twilight years. Okay, maybe not twilight just yet, but most of my life is in my rear view mirror. I find myself quite satisfied about life in general. It's a good life all in all and even though I've never had fame or a large fortune and didn't grow up to be a great humanitarian, I am a pretty contented person. Being average is okay. God must have loved average people, he made a whole lot of us. : )

I'm not certain there are any 'average' people. I once had a wonderful card that said: "Normal is just a setting on a washing machine."

I love reading your thoughtful posts, and that picture of the lilies is great.

PS-- just today I said to hubby that I wanted to enjoy the final third of my life. He said, "What makes you think you don't have half left?"

Well, let's be serious. I laughed out loud.

He certainly must have.

Although, I like what curtisann said about normal being a setting on a washing machine...

Aha! I just had a thought. Average it means you take everything from the lowest of the low to the highest of high and you divide it by the number of things you've added up and that is average...in which case there might only be one average person...

I know when I watch the weather and we are five degrees below average they make a big deal about how cool it is and yet that same day might have had a record high that was only five degrees above average. Take the day that is lower than average and the record breaking day and you have average...maybe that particular day never was the 'average' temp.

Well, hello!
I see you have several real nice blogs? How do you ever keep up? I'm impressed!
I decided to comment on this one because I love the picture of the daylilies and the glass container filled with lemons!

Thank you so much for leaving the fudge recipe with cheese! It really looks good and I'm sure it is very smooth. And I will take your word for it, that you can't taste the cheese. I wonder who thought of those ingredients! Thanks again. .

The best part of aging is letting go of all the insignificant stuff and just hanging onto the really important stuff! Not caring what everyone else thinks, just being true to yourself. What a journey this life turns out to be. I didn't do all the things I'd planned, either, but along the way, I did some even better stuff!
